COVID-19 SOS (Sword Of the Spirit)

In many ways, Covid-19 through Lent 2020 is God’s invitation for us to go deeper with and in Him. Here, we can yield our disordered attachments, creating space for God to renovate our hearts. This season and its pathway continue to bring us face-to-face with the temptation to have some measure of control and self-sufficiency by trying to turn our stones into bread. If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread. Jesus answered, It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’ (Matthew 4:3-4) Like John the Baptist languishing in prison and questioning if Jesus was the one, there are moments when I too slip into despair and doubt. I ask - is our God really a good God? And my deep and resounding conviction is yes, GOD is good! He is more than good in every sense of the word, taking what the enemy meant for evil and turning it for good. And He assured me with the tone of a loving and firm Father: Which of you,...

Twins in the Womb Twins were talking to each other in their mother’s womb. The sister said to the brother, “I believe there is life after birth”. Her brother protested vehemently, “No, no, this is all there is. This is a dark and cozy place, and we have nothing else to do but to cling to the cord that feeds us.”The little girl insisted, “There must be something else, a place with light where there is freedom to move.” She still could not convince her twin brother. After some silence, the sister said hesitantly, “I have something else to say, and I’m afraid you won’t believe that, either, but I think there is a mother.” Her brother became furious. “A mother!” he shouted. “What are you talking about? I have never seen a mother, and neither have you. Who put that idea in your head? As I told you, this place is all we have. Why do you always want more? This is not such a bad place, after all.
